Tur Cos Ta Posibel are organising a 2 week TEAM ESC activity.
We are looking for young people age 23 – 29 years who would like to take part in this social project where you will be involved with making a difference in our local community on the island of Aruba.
Due to the Caribbean location of this project, our experience is that some young people select our project based on our geographical location, rather than the project activities and for this reason our recruitment is very thorough.
We are offering you a 2 week volunteering project where you will live and work together with a group of international and local volunteers. Important to note the local volunteers will be young people based on the youth wing of KIA our national prison. Therefore as well as the motivation to work in the fields of art or music, you must have a passion for working with inclusion and not be concerned to work in a prison setting. The working language will be English, however Spanish and Dutch is an advantage, we will also introduce you to our local language of Papiamento. We are not looking for any formal skills or qualifications, rather we are interested in your motivations and desires. Tur Cos Ta Posibel (Everything is Possible in Papiamento) team; work with partners in social inclusion settings, KIA (our national prison) being one of our partners. Long-term ESC volunteers deliver yoga, dance, art, music and sport sessions with prisoners in the youth, women’s and male wings. This project will be based only in the youth wing. We believe as our name suggests that ‘Everything is Possible’ we want to inspire young people who have experienced barriers and obstacles in their lives, that maybe they can also engage in international activities. Could you be part of their journey? In this project we will create a mural on the wall of the outdoor recreational area and will create a CD with input from KIA residents and ESC volunteers which we will distribute to youth prisons around Europe and the Caribbean.
We are looking for 10 young people who:
- want to give up 2 weeks to undertake a full time (30hrs per week) volunteering activity
- are ready to commit to communal living, cooking, cleaning and sharing their culture
- who have a passion (and skills would be a bonus) for music or arts (painting, dance…)
- who are passionate about our agenda of social inclusion and ready to work with these groups
