Everton College Turing Scheme Project in Aruba

Tur Cos Ta Posibel recently hosted a group of eight students and two tutors from Everton College in the United Kingdom as part of their #TuringScheme mobility project in Aruba.

Over two intensive weeks, the group delivered a sports-focused programme across the island. They worked closely with local football clubs SV La Fama and Nacional Aruba, coaching different age groups and taking part in training sessions alongside local players. These exchanges created meaningful opportunities to share skills, build confidence, and strengthen connections through sport.

As part of their mobility, the students also delivered coaching sessions at EPB San Nicolas, leading football training and sports education activities.

Beyond the pitch, they presented Everton College and spoke about opportunities available to young people in the UK, encouraging dialogue, curiosity and inspiration among local students.

To round off the experience, the group coached football sessions at the beach – a uniquely Aruban setting that combined sport with cultural immersion. They also supported young players preparing for the DiscoverEU Inclusion experience and the MIC Tournament in Spain, sharing international perspectives and motivation.

The mobility went far beyond football. The students explored Aruban history and culture, attended a Papiamento class with teacher Teresita, and took part in a mosaic workshop with our partners Mike and Merv. It was a journey of learning, exchange and personal growth for everyone involved.

This project was hosted by Tur Cos Ta Posibel under the Turing Scheme programme of the UK Government.
