Museum Project

The project

Our Museum foundation, Fundacion Museo Arubano, has as its main task the presentation, awareness building, and programming in relation to the cultural heritage of Aruba. We do this by creating engaging exhibitions and programming and are right now in a phase where several community based and public programs are being initiated. Our volunteers will play a role in organizing, presenting, and creating awareness about these programs. We believe that volunteering in our organisation will offer a good possibility to earn about Aruba, its people and culture. Furthermore, it will offer the possibility to be engaged with others in the presentation of our many exhibits and programs.

Accommodation and meals

Volunteers will live in a shared house with other international volunteer. Rooms will be shared with one other volunteer of the same gender. Volunteers will receive a weekly food allowance to be able to buy food and household necessities either individually or as a group.

The accommodation is well located, 5 minutes walk from a local beach and with all the appliances and equipment needed for self catering and learning to cook the local food. There is a shared car and 4 bikes which volunteers can use, for some placements volunteers will be provided with a buspass.

For the project, volunteers need to be …

  • People skills being able to relate across generations and race.
  • Be artistically inclined.
  • Have a distinct interest in cultural history.
  • Be proactive and independent.
  • Digital skills
