The project
KIA is the national prison of Aruba, with a total capacity of 300 inmates and an average population of 260 across eight distinct departments: Youth, Women, Psychiatric, Remand, High Risk, Convicted, Sex Offenders, and Fines.
Tur Cos Ta Posibel places full-time volunteers in this institution, offering a variety of classes aimed at engagement and teaching new skills.
This placement will allow one volunteer to work across all departments, delivering sports activities to different groups each day. We are looking for a volunteer aged 23+ with coaching experience in different sports. Particularly popular at KIA are football, basketball, and volleyball, but we are also happy for you to introduce other sports. We are searching for a volunteer committed to social inclusion and transforming lives.

- Empathy for detainees
- A commitment to working with offenders to rehabilitate
- Confident to work with different groups in KIA
- 23 years +
- Sports coaching skills in a variety of sports
- Volunteering ethos and easily works in a team
