We are excited that you are interested in the opportunity to join the ESC Team Volunteering Project, V.OI.S. – Vision of Inclusion & Solidarity.
This international activity brings together young people to create a positive impact through workshops, expression, and teamwork in a unique setting – working with residents of Point Blanche Prison in Sint Maarten.

Project Details
This volunteering project is organized by Tur Cos Ta Posibel, in collaboration with Point Blanche Prison, and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme through the Dutch National Agency (Nederlands Jeugdinstituut), with additional support and co-financing from UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime).
- 📆 Dates: 6 June – 20 June 2026
- 📆 Application Deadline: 4th April 2026
- 📍 Location: Point Blanche, Sint Maarten
How did this project come about?
Tur Cos Ta Posibel has been delivering activities in Aruba National Prison (KIA) for several years, starting with small sports sessions and gradually expanding into art, music, yoga, dance, and creative workshops.
Today, we host long-term volunteers in KIA, focusing on art, sports, music, and mental health, building consistent and meaningful engagement within the prison.
Over the years, we developed and implemented three key projects:
AMIS – Arts and Music in Inclusion Settings (May 2024)
Involving young people from the youth department and 10 international volunteers, this project resulted in three murals and a music album created over two weeks.
FAIS – Fashion and Arts in Inclusion Settings (October 2024)
Implemented in the women’s wing, this project included jewelry-making, clay, painting, mosaics, fashion design, and even rebuilding a kitchen, ending with a fashion show.
SIS – Solidarity in Straf (May 2025)
This project brought 10 volunteers to the male adult department, delivering sports sessions, creating a mural, organizing a KIA Olympics, and running activities such as barbering workshops.
And then…
These initiatives sparked interest from Point Blanche Prison in Sint Maarten, which is currently undergoing redevelopment. Inspired by the impact created in Aruba, the management, together with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), expressed the desire to bring similar activities and approaches to their institution.
This project marks the first ESC team volunteering project ever implemented in Point Blanche Prison, making it a unique opportunity to expand this work internationally.
What will you do?
Volunteers will work directly with residents through activities that promote self-expression, creativity, and well-being.
You will co-create and facilitate sessions such as:
- Photography workshops – capturing stories and documenting the space
- Art sessions – painting, drawing, clay, and creative expression
- Music sessions – songwriting, rap, freestyle, and production
- Sports activities – football, basketball, and group games
- Non-formal education activities – team-building and group dynamics
- International cookbook – sharing cultures through food
- Skateboard sessions – introducing new skills in a fun environment
Participant Profile
This project is open to young people who are ready to step outside their comfort zone and engage in a meaningful and challenging experience.
We are looking for volunteers who are open-minded, respectful, and willing to learn from people with diverse life experiences. No prior experience in working with incarcerated individuals is required, but a genuine interest in social inclusion, personal growth, and creating positive change is essential.
You should be curious, adaptable, and emotionally resilient, as working in a prison environment can be both challenging and rewarding.
If this setting feels overwhelming, this project might not be the right fit. However, if it sparks your interest and motivation to grow, learn, and contribute, then you might be exactly who we are looking for.
As this is the first project of its kind in Sint Maarten, we are looking for participants who are committed, responsible, and ready to be part of something impactful.
👉 Participants must be 23+ years old
